Overview

Our Client is  one of the top 5 IT services and consulting companies worldwide,is looking for a  Lead Mechanical Engineer for  long term project in Atlanta, GA, below is the detail requirement.

 

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for new and existing products (current production and products in the field); transforming market requirements into system, subsystem and/or component requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in the design, analysis, and validation of vehicle components and systems especially related to battery enclosure, battery brackets, suspension, and prevention of batteries from coming loose due to vehicle tipping/flip-over.
  • Utilize and coach less experience engineers and suppliers on APQP tools such as DFMEA, DVP&R, and control plans.
  • Analyze test results to confirm new components, assemblies and systems meet defined requirements.
  • Investigate and develop new technologies and build the technical knowledge base of the mechanical engineering team to enable new product development and advancement of existing products.
  • Review NPD and other engineering changes to determine product cost (materials, labor, and tooling) and generate Capital Expense Requests to justify projects.
  • Work with subcontractors, parts and materials vendors to ensure project schedule and quality is met.
  • Demonstrate the acumen to handle both complex and ambiguous situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously’ mixing long term projects and urgent projects to meet customer demands.
  • Perform project related assignments by working directly with all facets of the organization to ensure project, product and/or part success with respect to Quality, Delivery and Cost goals.
  • Demonstrate strong collaboration skills and the ability to think creatively to create solutions, drive execution and focus on results.
  • Work with different departments including electrical, manufacturing, testing and marketing/sales regarding design inputs and collaboration to ensure company goals (cost, schedule, features).
  • Demonstrated use of APQP tools such as Requirements definition, DFMEA, DVP&R, and Control Plans
  • Demonstrated expertise in vehicle design including design of powertrains, suspension systems, chassis, and plastics
  • Must have vehicle experience in either automotive, farm equipment, ATV, utility or heavy equipment (with suspension and wheels) or similar
  • Experience in materials analysis and selection including plastics, metallic coatings, machining, tooling and assembly of parts

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer science or equivalent, with minimum of 2 to 6 years of software development experience.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills including the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to use strong industry knowledge to relate to customer needs and dissolve customer concerns and high level of focus and attention to detail.
  • Strong work ethic with good time management with ability to work with diverse teams and lead meetings.
